Senior Picture day in Richmond

Sunday, the kids and I packed up and drove to Richmond to meet with our friend and photographer, Jimmy Sadler, to have Frances' Senior pictures taken.  While there, I took a few pictures of my own....on my phone because I didn't bring my real camera.  Yes, it was one of THOSE days.

So, here are a few of MY pictures from the day...

The guest of honor...My pictures do not do her  justice.

Jimmy's pictures of all of the kids are MUCH better than mine...but those will have to wait until another time...

School Pictures!!

It is that time of year again...the annual parade of the school pictures...except that one of our children somehow was overlooked this year, and we didn't end up ordering her pictures.  However, for your viewing pleasure, here are the remainder of the kids.

Jonathan "Jon" is 14 this year, and in 8th grade.
He is playing the trumpet this year, and wants to try out for the baseball team.

Heather is now 13, and in the seventh grade.
She is playing the flute in band, and was playing the alto saxophone for Jazz band, but we are unsure if that will continue since she broke her wrist.

Justin is 10 years old, and in 5th grade.
He is doing very well in school, and is practicing presently for the geography bee.

Leah is 8 years old and in third grade this year.
She is loving school, and thoroughly loves loving torturing all of the animals within range.

Katherine is six years old this year, and is in first grade.
She really enjoys school, though the adjustment from kindergarten to first grade has been challenging.

God has richly blessed us with some beautiful and talented children, for which we are ever-so-grateful!!

Beach Fun

Today was an absolutely amazing day. We have had a family picture day in the works for a while, and it finally worked....and let me just say that I think we all had a BLAST!! Our photographer was an "old" friend from Bible College days, who lives about an hour away from us, and who was able to come and spend the afternoon with us on the beach. Jimmy is an amazing photographer, a gifted writer, and I am so blessed to call him a friend. Can't wait to see the pictures!!! Meanwhile, go check out his website, and see if you agree with me... Jimmy Sadler, you're an amazingly creative mobile dustpile!!

Back to School, and all that jazz

I can't decide whether I should cry or party...today is the first day of school for this year, which includes a 10th grader, a 7th grader, a 6th grader, a 4th grader, a 2nd grader, and my baby starting Kindergarten.

Of course, I got pictures. What kind of mom do you think I am?!?

Okay, so I missed the op for the 10th grader...later...I'll get one of her this afternoon, I promise!

This one is TOO cool for a real picture...had to snap this on the fly.... He was NOT happy with me!

It's her first day of middle school...she's EXCITED!!

The 4th grader LOVES school and has been chomping at the bit all summer....

The second grader...she loves school too...because she LOVES her friends!!!

My baby...she looks too little to be going to school, right?!?

My house is too quiet today...I KNOW I'll get used to it...but this Mommy's a little sad this morning....
